On the 11th of December, Núria Almiron participated in the conference "Jornada sobre la traçabilitat de les decisions públiques" (Conference on the traceability of public decisions) with a short presentation entitled "Not all interests are the same: How to distinguish and democratise influence". The event took place in Barcelona, organised by the Direcció General de Bon Govern, Innovació i Qualitat Democràtiques (Generalitat de Catalunya)

Dr. Almiron speech discussed the need to distinguish between interests and the different levels of contribution of lobbies to democracy. The conference was dedicated to reflection on a paradigm shift in the field of lobbying, understanding the possible contribution of social actors as a genuine contribution to decision-making, provided that there are control mechanisms in place to prevent any attack on public integrity.
